The Courage of Convictions
In 1 Peter 3:15, we are taught to “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But, do this with gentleness and respect.” Furthermore, “let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how to respond to each person.” (Colossians 4:6)
National Prayer Breakfast
On February 2, author Eric Metaxas was the keynote speaker at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC. The audience of 3,500 included President Obama, the First Lady, members of Congress, and other U.S. and world leaders. With characteristic wit, humor and insight, Eric spoke about his faith, the reason for the hope that is within him. He shared about his Greek and German parents, his agnostic years at Yale, his angst-ridden career struggles and then…the dream, the encounter with a living Christ that changed his life. A Job Well Done
With grace and respect, Eric shared the heart of the Christian faith, not shying away from the tough stands and controversial topics. He did so with such intelligence, integrity and courage, he deserves our admiration, gratitude and deepest respect.
And so, Eric, thank you, bless you — really well done!
