Say Yes to the Music
It’s a typical spring day just north of Barcelona. Families, children and couples meander through the Plaza de Sant Roc.
Suddenly, an impeccably tuxedoed musician appears and strikes a pose with his bass. A fellow cellist joins him. The opening bars of Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” gently float through the air. The crowd turns to listen. Now, a stream of violinists, oboists, french horns appear…then, singers, a drummer, a conductor. It’s a flash mob! The orchestra erupts in an exuberant crescendo of music. The audience is lifted, spellbound by this exquisite gift that interrupted their day.
Just like Christ…
He steps out of eternity and into time to intercept our lives. “Welcome, come as you are, join me in this great symphony of life. I have an important part for you to play, a part shaped especially for you that will bring meaning and joy to your existence. Follow me, let us make music together.”
It’s a new year. If you are not yet part of His orchestra, say yes to the Great Conductor. Let the music begin! Enjoy!
I love this video. Thanks for sharing. God bless, Jean
How music touches the heart! Wow!
How moving, brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you.
Yes…every time I see it! Spread the joy! Happy 2013!
I’ve seen a lot of flashmobs, but this one is particularly inspiring. The best part for me was the stream of musicians coming out of the building to casually join the orchestra. Each one was prepared and knew his part. What a great metaphor for the body of Christ!
Agree! And how He invades our life with the free gift of His life, His love, His Son! Applause!!!
