Miracle in the Emergency Room

There are times when God speaks.  When he invades our lives so unmistakably that we are compelled to take notice and obey.  Such was the case with this hospital emergency room doctor who cared for a stranger who’d collapsed in the waiting room from a massive heart attack.  Despite desperate attempts for 40 minutes to revive him, the man’s heart was unresponsive, so the team finally gave up…until God spoke to the doctor and commanded him to go back and pray for the corpse.  Defying the ridicule of his colleagues and overcoming his own lack of faith, the doctor laid hands on the man’s chest and prayed that he’d be given one more chance to make peace with God this side of Heaven.  The man sputtered to life, with no traces of brain or heart damage.  He lives to tell his own amazing story and you can watch it here.

And in India, a group of young children between 7 and 12 years old who live in a rural Christian missions camp observed how the adults in their midst prayed daily about every decision, over every need and situation.  They decided they would do the same thing and began to call on God to heal an impoverished young boy their age who was in pain and dying from a brain tumor.  For five consecutive days, the young prayer warriors visited the sick boy at his house and prayed fervently for his healing.  On the fifth day, the boy’s pain suddenly stopped and he sat up, noticeably improved. His next brain scan revealed that the tumor had completely disappeared.  Here is this uplifting story.

“Praise the Lord, my soul, all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my should, and forget not his benefits–
who forgives all your sins and heals your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
(Psalm 103: 1-5)
