The Greatest Swap

What does God see when He looks at me?  He’s delighted.  Delighted!!  How is that possible?  I know my failings, my heart, my weaknesses. It’s called Divine Grace.  Because Jesus, sinless, holy and perfect died in my place as a payment for my sins, I am now not only free from God’s wrath, but also have inherited Christ’s righteousness.  This is the Divine Swap – and I did nothing to deserve it!  It is God’s gift of grace to all who believe…and even that ability to believe, that faith, is a free gift from Him.  So, when God looks at me, he sees the perfection of his Son, not my frail humanity, and is completely delighted.

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”  (2 Cor 5:21)

Cleansed and Forgiven

This is not to say that we can abuse this grace by polluting our lives with bad choices, for as disciples we are called to holy living day by day (this is called sanctification).  However, it does mean that my past, present and future sins are forgiven because of Christ’s atoning work once and for all and for everyone who believes in Him (this is called justification).

Jesus Did It For You
I am forgiven, I am clothed in Christ’s righteousness and God is delighted with me.  Alleluia!!!

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves,it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”  (Ephesians 2:8 & 9)
